About The Position

Lake Technical College is seeking an experienced machining and manufacturing instructor to join their training programs team. This role involves providing hands-on instruction to students, delivering engaging lessons, demonstrating machining techniques, and guiding students through practical exercises to develop their skills in manufacturing. The college is dedicated to providing high-quality technical training in advanced manufacturing with state-of-the-art facilities.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of production manufacturing experience
  • Understanding of Design for Manufacturing, computer aided manufacturing, and flexible manufacturing planning and control
  • CNC operation experience is preferred
  • Ability to read blueprints and work with measuring devices

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in computer control and robotics
  • Fundamental understanding of Programmable Logic Control

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver curriculum for machining and manufacturing courses, including lesson plans, presentations, and hands-on exercises.
  • Instruct students on CNC machine operation, tooling selection, setup, and programming using industry-standard software and equipment.
  • Facilitate hands-on training sessions in our well-equipped workshop, demonstrating proper tool usage and machining practices.
  • Provide individualized feedback and guidance to students to support their learning and skill development.
  • Maintain a safe and organized learning environment, adhering to safety protocols and best practices in machining operations.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to continuously improve curriculum content and instructional methods based on industry trends and advancements.
  • Assist with the maintenance and upkeep of CNC machines and other equipment to ensure optimal performance and functionality.
