About The Position

The Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Pascal Mubenga, is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of: CAREER & TECHNICAL EDUCATION BUILDING TRADES TEACHER. This is a probationary position for the 2026-2027 school year.

Requirements

• Hold a valid New York State teaching certification in one of the following building trades areas: Carpentry, Electrical (Residential), HVAC, or Plumbing.
• Alternatively, qualify for certification through NYSED by verifying a minimum of four years of relevant work experience in building trades, in accordance with NYSED requirements.

Responsibilities

• Teach one or more of the construction pathways (Carpentry, Electrical (Residential), HVAC, or Plumbing) to high school students.
• Demonstrate required building trade competencies including, but not limited to, model making; blueprint reading and interpretation; and the construction principles associated with building design, foundation systems, floor systems, wall systems, roof systems, doors and windows, and specialized construction materials.
• Possess the ability to produce appropriate technical drawings within their area of expertise.
