About The Position

The Career Services Operations Manager develops, manages, and expands strategic employer engagement programs that connect students with career exploration and professional development opportunities. This position serves as the primary coordinator for Discovery Days, Job Shadow experiences, alumni mentorship and other initiatives, while cultivating relationships with employers, academic units, and alumni to increase meaningful engagement opportunities. Working collaboratively with Employer Relations and Career Readiness teams, the Manager identifies new partnership opportunities, strengthens existing employer relationships, and develops scalable engagement models that align with Career Services' strategic priorities. This role balances program management with long-term growth planning by evaluating outcomes, identifying gaps, and implementing innovative approaches that expand employer and alumni participation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
  • Experience building and maintaining professional relationships with employers, alumni, industry partners, and university stakeholders.
  • Experience planning, coordinating, and evaluating employer engagement, career development, or experiential learning programs.
  • Experience developing strategic partnerships that support organizational growth and stakeholder engagement.
  • Experience managing projects involving multiple stakeholders while balancing competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Experience collaborating with faculty, academic units, or higher education partners.
  • Experience coordinating events or programs ranging from small-group experiences to larger engagement initiatives.
  • Experience utilizing CRM or career management platforms (12twenty, Handshake, Salesforce, or similar systems).
  • Experience collecting, analyzing, and interpreting program data to inform decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities for program growth and implement innovative solutions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage audiences.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail while managing multiple concurrent projects.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and collaborative technologies including Teams or Google Workspace.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic vision and oversight for the growth, refinement, and evolution of assigned employer engagement programs and initiatives, establishing priorities, identifying opportunities for expansion and innovation, and ensuring alignment with Career Services, divisional, and university goals.
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with employers, alumni, academic units, and university partners to advance Career Services priorities, strengthen partnerships, and expand meaningful engagement opportunities for students.
  • Develop and advance a comprehensive approach to alumni engagement within Career Services, expanding opportunities for alumni to serve as mentors, industry connectors, employer advocates, program participants, and strategic partners in support of students and the broader vision for Career at ASU.
  • Recruit, engage, and steward employers, alumni, and other external partners for participation in Career Services programs, events, and strategic initiatives, cultivating sustained relationships and identifying opportunities for deeper involvement.
  • Collaborate with Career Services staff and campus partners to identify, develop, and implement employer and alumni engagement opportunities that align with departmental priorities, student career readiness goals, and evolving workforce and industry needs.
  • Coordinate employer and stakeholder communications, scheduling, logistics, and participant support to ensure the successful delivery of programs, events, and engagement activities.
  • Monitor program outcomes, maintain accurate records, analyze participation and engagement data, and use assessment findings to recommend improvements, inform strategic decisions, and enhance the effectiveness and impact of employer and alumni engagement initiatives.
  • Identify emerging partnership opportunities, evaluate new program and engagement models, and recommend innovative approaches that expand the reach and impact of Employer Relations and Career Services.
  • Represent Career Services at employer and alumni engagement activities, recruiting events, university meetings, and community partnerships, serving as a professional ambassador and advancing awareness of opportunities to engage with Career at ASU.
  • Support departmental operations and strategic priorities through committee participation, special projects, assessment activities, and cross-functional collaboration.
