About The Position

The South Bay Workforce Investment Board, Inc. (SBWIB, Inc.) is seeking an experienced, motivated, and organized Career Services Coordinator – Job Developer to support workforce development and employment initiatives for youth and young adults participating in youth workforce programs. The ideal candidate is passionate about workforce development and helping participants achieve educational and employment success. This individual should possess strong communication, outreach, networking, and relationship-building skills; be highly organized and detail-oriented; and be capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while working independently and collaboratively with internal teams, employers, schools, and community partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Social Sciences, Business, Public Administration, Human Services, or a related field; and
  • At least two (2) years of experience in workforce development, employment services, case management, job development, social services, recruitment, or related programs
  • Or any satisfactory combination of experience and training which demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the below duties (education may be substituted by experience on a year-for-year basis).

  • Excellent organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities, work well under pressure, and solve problems effectively in fast-paced environments

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience using virtual meeting platforms such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom
  • Reliable transportation
  • Valid California Driver’s License and proof of insurance
  • Ability to successfully pass background and reference clearances
  • Ability to comply with company safety protocols and workplace requirements
  • Alternatively, a satisfactory combination of experience, education, and training demonstrating the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties described (experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis).

Responsibilities

  • Conduct employer outreach and develop relationships with businesses, employers, industry representatives, training providers, schools, and community partners to identify employment and work-based learning opportunities for participants
  • Market workforce development programs and employment support services to employers and community partners
  • Conduct outreach activities including cold calling, networking, presentations, recruitment events, and job fairs
  • Develop and coordinate internship, work experience, job shadowing, classroom speaker, company tour, and employment opportunities for participants
  • Assist participants with career exploration, job readiness preparation, résumé development, interview preparation, job search assistance, and employment retention strategies
  • Facilitate or assist with workshops, orientations, presentations, and employment-related training activities
  • Match participant skills, experience, and interests with available employment opportunities
  • Coordinate participant referrals and follow-up communication with employers regarding interviews, placements, and participant progress
  • Monitor participant performance and employment retention and assist with resolving workplace concerns or barriers to success
  • Maintain regular communication with employers and participants to support successful placements and outcomes
  • Conduct participant assessments, eligibility screenings, and off-site service delivery activities as needed
  • Track participant activities, placements, outcomes, and case notes within required tracking and case management systems
  • Prepare and maintain reports, documentation, forms, and related records in a timely and accurate manner
  • Assist with outreach materials, recruitment efforts, presentations, flyers, and other promotional activities
  • Participate in meetings, trainings, conferences, and program activities as assigned
  • Maintain current knowledge of labor market trends, workforce development initiatives, and employment resources
  • Perform other duties of a similar nature or level as assigned
