About The Position

Champion student success and guide future healthcare professionals toward fulfilling careers! Pima Medical Institute is seeking a driven, relationship-focused Career Services Advisor to join our Mesa campus team. In this vital role, you will empower students through externship placement, career readiness coaching, and job search guidance. You will build and maintain strong partnerships with local Mesa and Phoenix-area healthcare providers, facilitate externship opportunities, and provide students with the resume, interview, and networking tools needed to launch successful careers in healthcare.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two (2) years of recruitment, staffing, account management, or career placement experience.
  • Basic computer proficiency, database experience (CampusNexus or CRM preferred), and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or Google Workspace.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication; strong relationship-building, organizational, and motivational skills.
  • An equivalent combination of training, education, or relevant experience meeting minimum qualifications will be considered.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Secure quality externship sites through proactive outreach strategies, including cold calling, networking, on-site visits, and email marketing to regional healthcare facilities.
  • Match students to appropriate externship sites based on assessments and instructor input; conduct site visits to evaluate student progress and maintain site availability data.
  • Conduct pre-externship orientation sessions to prepare students for professional clinical expectations.
  • Organize and lead career development workshops covering resume writing, interview techniques, job search optimization, and professional networking.
  • Cultivate long-term relationships with local healthcare employers to expand graduate hiring opportunities; facilitate Advisory Board meetings to align program offerings with industry needs.
  • Participate in campus career fairs, graduation ceremonies, and community networking events.
  • Ensure all required pre-placement documentation (background checks, immunizations, CPR certifications, etc.) is complete and packaged into externship files.
  • Maintain accurate records of student, graduate, and employer interactions in CampusNexus; track credentialing, programmatic licensure, and employment verification metrics to meet goals.
