About The Position

The Career Pathways Manager supports participants enrolled in WIOA GED Program by providing career exploration, postsecondary planning, workforce readiness, and transition services. This position helps participants identify and achieve their educational and employment goals through individualized career planning, assessments, resource coordination, and ongoing support throughout their participation in the program. The Career Pathways Manager also assists with participant intake, onboarding, and academic assessment processes to ensure a seamless enrollment experience.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required, Social Work, Counseling, Education, Human Services, or a related field preferred
• Experience in workforce development, adult education, career counseling, higher education access, or case management preferred.
• Knowledge of career pathways, workforce systems, postsecondary education, and community resources.
• Experience working with diverse adult learners and underserved populations.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic data management systems.
• Ability to work evening hours (Tuesday through Thursday 12 pm- 8 pm).
• Experience administering standardized assessments such as the TABE.
• Knowledge of WIOA, adult education, or GED programming.
• Experience facilitating career readiness workshops and one-on-one career coaching.
• Ability to build collaborative relationships with employers, colleges, and community partners.
• Working Knowledge: Sufficient familiarity with workforce development, career readiness, job placement processes, and the employment barriers young adults face.
• General Knowledge: City systems such as public assistance programs, child welfare services, education systems, and affordable housing resources.
• Thorough Knowledge: Case management principles and practices, including developing case plans, documenting case notes, and facilitating youth development strategies.
• Workshop development and group facilitation techniques for employment, financial literacy, and social interaction.
• Comprehensive Knowledge: Service coordination and advocacy for youth navigating complex systems.
• Database management systems (Salesforce, DYCD Connect) for tracking client progress and program outcomes.
• Best practices in supporting young adults with employment, education, financial literacy, and overcoming systemic barriers.

Responsibilities

• Develop individualized career and postsecondary plans based on each participant's goals, interests, skills, and abilities.
• Provide ongoing career coaching, goal setting, and individualized support throughout program participation.
• Guide participants in exploring career pathways, occupational training, apprenticeships, college, credentialing, and other postsecondary opportunities.
• Connect participants with employment, education, training, and community resources aligned with their career goals.
• Support participants in successfully transitioning into employment, postsecondary education, occupational training, or other career advancement opportunities upon program completion.
• Provide individualized employment support, including job search assistance, career counseling, and post-program follow-up.
• Assist participants with resume development, interview preparation, job applications, networking, and other workforce readiness activities.
• Coordinate referrals to workforce development partners, employers, and community-based resources.
• Create and maintain participant Virtual Career Center accounts during onboarding.
• Curate and share online resources related to employment, career exploration, workforce training, financial aid, college access, and professional development.
• Educate participants on effectively accessing and utilizing virtual career resources.
• Track employment, education, and training outcomes in accordance with program and funder requirements.
• Develop, coordinate, and facilitate engaging workshops focused on career readiness, workforce preparation, college and career exploration, financial literacy, workplace professionalism, job search strategies, and related topics.
• Deliver interactive, participant-centered workshops that meet the needs of adult learners and align with program objectives.
• Evaluate workshop effectiveness through participant feedback, outcomes, and observation, making recommendations for continuous improvement.
• Maintain accurate attendance records and required workshop documentation in accordance with program requirements.
• Support the WIOA Program Manager with participant recruitment, intake, orientation, and enrollment activities.
• Complete required enrollment documentation, including the Individual Student Record Form (ISRF) and all applicable program paperwork.
• Conduct participant intake assessments and facilitate onboarding procedures.
• Ensure participant files are complete, accurate, and compliant with organizational, WIOA, and New York State Adult Education requirements.
• Serve as a certified TABE Test Administrator/Proctor in accordance with testing policies and procedures.
• Schedule, administer, and monitor TABE assessments for new and returning participants.
• Maintain testing security, assessment records, and all required documentation to ensure compliance with testing standards.
• Collaborate with instructors, case managers, career services staff, and program leadership to support participant success.
• Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, case conferences, and team planning sessions.
• Support participant engagement, retention, and persistence strategies throughout the program.
• Assist with special projects, events, and other program operations as assigned.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential participant records in compliance with organizational, funder, WIOA, and New York State Adult Education requirements.
• Complete and submit all required documentation, including case notes, contact hours, assessments, referrals, career plans, and participant progress updates within established timelines.
• Accurately document participant interactions and services using the organization's designated data management systems.
• Maintain complete, organized, and audit-ready participant files.
• Monitor participant progress toward educational, employment, credential attainment, and postsecondary goals, ensuring supporting documentation is collected and maintained.
• Assist with data collection, reporting, file reviews, and quality assurance activities to support program performance and grant compliance.
