About The Position

Goodwill Easterseals Miami Valley is one of the largest employers in the region; with the mission to empower those with disadvantages and disabilities to improve their quality of life. We employ over 600 associates just in our retail stores alone. GESMV also offers over 40 programs and services to the community ranging from job readiness programs to assistive technology services. Requirements

  • Relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of Bachelor’s degree.
  • A minimum of two years of experience working with adolescents and/or young adults.
  • Strong computer and presentation skills.
  • Must be able to demonstrate excellent written and face to face communication and perform functions on computer to complete financial records, case notes and reports and presentations.
  • Employee must maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record acceptable to Goodwill's liability insurance provider. If at any time the employee is unable to maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record acceptable to GESMV’s liability insurance provider, they must immediately notify Human Resources.
  • Employee must have reliable transportation as a means of transporting assigned referrals to job interviews in the community, attend meetings, etc.
  • Must maintain the ability to pass a criminal background check and random drug screens.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with youth.
  • Ability to manage numerous cases at different levels at one time.
  • Ability to organize multi-faceted work load.
  • Ability to effectively document case notes, hours of service, participant goals and plans of action.
  • Ability to speak effectively in public and exhibit customer service skills focused on advancing the opportunities of youth.
  • Ability to respond to inquiries from employees, customer, funders or regulatory agencies.
  • Ability to coordinate with local school systems to serve eligible youth and expand contract services as appropriate.
  • Ability to understand WIOA and CCMEP standards for the State of Ohio.
  • Ability to generate necessary reports as requested by funder.
  • Ability to independently solve problems and manage conflicts.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve program goals as defined by Job and Family Services (JFS) and CCMEP contract by demonstrating a sincere belief in the inherent value and dignity of all by partnering with youth to meet performance benchmarks.
  • Maintain working relationships with JFS staff that are part of the program oversight and administration.
  • Provide instruction to youth to set-up Ohio Means Jobs accounts, assist with resume development, career pathways, job readiness, and job search.
  • Conduct weekly workshops on financial literacy and job readiness skills.
  • Maintain and provide case management for a small caseload of youth CCMEP clientele and report activities to JSF staff as required.
  • Document all contracted services provided to youth in JFS and Goodwill case management systems.
  • Work with other contracted Ohio Means Jobs staff and Greene County JFS to establish meaningful work experiences and/or education opportunities that fulfill hourly benefit requirements while also providing valuable training leading to gainful employment.
  • Collaborate with employers, OMJ staff and work experience sites to identify problematic behavior on the worksite and create a plan to help youth establish skills leading to longevity in employment and/or training.
  • Assist with facilitating certified training opportunities for youth.
  • Meet all aspects of the CCMEP timelines for case documentation, participation reports and billing.
  • Ensure employment is maintained through ongoing coaching and follow-up.
  • Determine when youth are to be placed in follow-up and provide follow-up services as needed.
  • Ensure health and safety procedures are defined and implemented.
  • Develop a progressive multi-tiered plan encompassing short-term certifications, job readiness training, and personal development to ensure participants’ success in paid work experience and community employment.
  • Comply with all Agency policies, procedures and safety standards throughout work areas and maintain same to meet CARF, HIPAA, Department of Labor and other regulatory standards.
