The Career Counselor will administer leaves and passes in CIS to adhere to DOL policies, conduct individual and group counseling sessions, and assist students in seeking advanced training opportunities. This role involves maintaining and documenting communications with parents, guardians, and Admissions Counselors, establishing working relationships with staff, and acting as a liaison between students and various departments. The counselor will also facilitate and monitor Evaluations of Student Progress (ESP’s), transport students when necessary, and work towards meeting performance management goals related to student completion and credentialing. The position requires adherence to CDSS plan and Code of Conduct, conducting AWOL follow-up, maintaining updated CIS case notes, and ensuring good housekeeping and safety practices. Compliance with DOL guidelines, OFCCP regulations, Job Corps notices, and Center policies is essential. The role involves modeling and mentoring Career Success Standards, helping students become more employable, and participating in mandated staff training.
