About The Position

The Career Counselor (CC) is a pivotal role on the career center team. The CC provides career counseling and coaching to help customers improve their training and professional skillset to obtain employment in their desired field. The CC expands job seeker employment opportunities and directly impacts mission success. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance with good driving record.
  • Ability to relocate within the service delivery area.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates or undergraduate degree preferred.
  • (1) year of relevant experience preferred.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides a comprehensive assessment to include career aptitude assessments to help identify needs, and evaluate the customers’ interests, skills, and abilities.
  • Recommend helpful workforce programs and services at the local, state, and federal level that customers are eligible to participate in.
  • Provides customers with interview and resume assistance, soft skill development, and recommends additional training opportunities.
  • Provides information on the local job market, employment services and resources, educational opportunities, and other available services.
