About The Position

Serves as an unclassified employee pursuant to Section 124.11 (A) (12) O.R.C. and performs the following educational and/or research duties: Under direction of leadership, the incumbent will: Support statewide projects related to K-12 career exploration, planning, and career-connected learning. Contribute to research, project implementation, resource development and continuous improvement activities. The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce is a diverse team of passionate, education-focused professionals responsible for overseeing and enhancing the quality of education for each of Ohio’s 1.7 million students. The Department provides the resources and supports essential to raising student achievement and accelerating learning opportunities, advancing the connectivity between K-12 and postsecondary learning, creating programs to support and expand workforce experiences, and ensuring students have the necessary supports to be ready each day to learn. As the governing body responsible for overseeing and enhancing the quality of education within the State of Ohio, the Department of Education and Workforce is dedicated to promoting educational excellence and ensuring equal access to learning opportunities for all students. Requirements

  • Current enrollment in a baccalaureate or graduate degree program
  • Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally
  • Ability to organize information, tasks, and assignments
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Willingness to learn new topics, tools and processes

  • Experience completing research, projects or assignments that require gathering and organizing information

Responsibilities

  • Track project tasks, timelines and deliverables
  • Maintain project tools, resources and organized information
  • Support meetings, presentations and learning activities
  • Identify ways to improve project processes and tools
  • Research topics related to education, career-connected learning, advising, and project needs
  • Identify key findings, trends and useful ideas
  • Review and summarize policies, guidance and other project information
  • Explore promising practices, tools and new approaches
  • Create and update presentations, guides, tools and other resources
  • Turn complex information into clear and useful materials
  • Use visual design to make information easy to understand and use
  • Use technology and digital tools to support research and resource development
  • Improve resources based on feedback and user needs
