Under general supervision, the Career Coach – Bertie High School (BHS) provides career, college, and employment-related guidance and support to high school students through ongoing collaboration with students, College administration, academic and career and technical education coordinators, teachers, school counselors, and other school personnel. The Career Coach assists students with exploring career interests, developing career plans, and identifying career pathway opportunities available through Martin Community College. The position is responsible for working closely with Student Development Services personnel at MCC; participating in events such as job fairs, college nights, and career days; and attending faculty and staff meetings as needed. The Career Coach also collaborates with secondary and postsecondary personnel to support coordination of high school and college schedules in a manner that promotes student access to required coursework. In addition, the position serves as a primary point of contact for high school students, parents, and prospective MCC students. This position does not supervise others and reports directly to the Director of High School Programs.
