The Career Coach is responsible for providing services to individuals who receive Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF), participants through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance (SNAP) and Able-Bodied Adult Without Dependents (ABAWD) programs, Noncustodial Parents (NCP) participants, and universal participants. Services include eligibility verification, skills and needs assessments, case management, and progress monitoring. The Career Coach also coordinates supportive services and conducts follow-up to ensure that necessary supports are in place for placement in employment. The target goal for participants served is employment at or above the self-sufficiency wage with job retention tracked for at least one year after exiting the program. The role involves providing information to potential participants and verifying eligibility, conducting assessments to determine participant needs, developing and tracking employment plans, providing case management, coordinating supportive services (like childcare and transportation), conducting follow-up to monitor progress, and taking timely action when participants are not progressing. It also requires preparing, submitting, and monitoring case management documentation, ensuring data entry into TWIST/WIT/COLTS systems, maintaining client data confidentiality, and potentially facilitating group orientations. Additional functions include traveling for meetings, training, and outreach, and being able to telework as needed.
