Requirements

  • One year as a Career and Technical Educational Services Supervisor (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • One year as a Career and Technical Education Advisor 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • One year as a Specialized Career and Technical Education Advisor 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Six years of professional experience in the field of career and technical education which included two years of experience in the development or implementation of career and technical education curricula or programs and which included two years of supervisory or administrative experience.
  • Minimum of two years of full-time professional career and technical education experience in a 9-12 or postsecondary environment.
  • Must meet the PA residency requirement.
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions.
  • Satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Guide the review and approval of secondary career and technical education programs and ensure compliance with standards
  • Provide direction to staff, school leaders, and program specialists working to maintain quality CTE programs
  • Examine program information to identify trends, address non-compliance, and support improvements
  • Participate in creating and interpreting policies and procedures that support career and technical education
  • Assign work, review performance, and manage daily operations for staff responsible for program development and evaluation
  • Coordinate evaluations of approved programs and recommend resources or assistance based on findings
