Career and Financial Coaching interns assist IRC employment specialists with daily activities that support the self-sufficiency of refugees, asylees, and other humanitarian immigrants in the Baltimore metropolitan area. Work may include individualized job-search and interview preparation, leading small-group job-readiness sessions, researching potential employers, and documenting services. Interns may also have the opportunity to develop an employment-specific project. The Spring 2027 internship is hybrid, combining a standard office environment, remote work, and field time in the greater Baltimore area. It runs for 14 weeks, from the week of January 27, 2027, through May 16, 2027, and requires at least 15 hours per week. Interns should be able to work from the office at least three days per week. A required orientation is scheduled for Wednesday, January 27, approximately 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. IRC provides a laptop for the internship. The position is unpaid; university credit may be arranged. Eligible interns may receive a $15-per-day per diem reimbursement, defined as 7.5 hours, to offset food and travel costs, and may also be reimbursed for mileage for approved activities based on round-trip mileage from the IRC office.
