About The Position

This position will help dual-enrollment high school students access and succeed in the Johnston Community College’s Career and Promise Program (CCP). The position guides students through program requirements and registration and provides support throughout the student's dual enrollment experience.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree.
  • One year in an office setting.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to speak effectively with students, parents, campus representatives, and the public.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and social media posts.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work including the general public.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to retrieve data from student information systems.
  • Proficient in computer programs: Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, Informer, and Colleague.
  • Ability to learn student systems such as Colleague, OnBase, and Element451.
  • Knowledge of modern office equipment including computers and printers.
  • Ability to complete file transfers between systems.
  • The employee must be able to meet mobility requirements and be able to occasionally move materials of up to 10 pounds.
  • Must be able to access print material and utilize the information effectively.

Nice To Haves

  • Mastery of conversational Spanish
  • 1-3 years of experience and/or training in college admissions setting involving clerical work and computer usage or combination of related education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and respond to phone and email communication, ensuring accurate information dissemination and effective support for students, faculty, and staff.
  • Serve as the initial point of contact for JCC enrollment services and program information when contacted by email, phone, or social media.
  • Uses Student Information System to process, admit, and maintain CCP applicant records.
  • Manage dual enrollment program logistics, including enrollment processes, record keeping, and program data collection and reporting.
  • Assist students with the application and enrollment process, ensuring they meet eligibility requirements and complete necessary paperwork.
  • Maintain and update admission records and student files.
  • Assist with recruitment, information sessions, and engagement events to raise awareness of CCP.
  • Assist prospective students as needed through the admissions journey from initial inquiry to application completion.
  • Ensures compliance with all FERPA regulations.
  • Support the JCC Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM) committee in planning communication to applicants and students.
  • Work closely with high schools, counselors, and administrators to ensure a smooth transition for dual enrolled students.
  • Actively participate in professional development and support college initiatives related to dual enrollment partnerships.
  • Maintain knowledge of updated CCP program policies and ensure compliance with college standards.
  • Maintain and update the program website to ensure accurate and current information.
  • Process compliance checks through file reviews and/or audits initiate corrections/changes to assure compliance.
  • Collaborate with CCP team to ensure enrollment goals are met.
  • Serve on college committees as assigned.
  • Stay current concerning the regulations instituted by the North Carolina Community College System (NCCCS) in conjunction with the Department of Public Instruction (DPI) with regard to CCP pathways available to high school students.
  • Participate in applicable professional organizations.
  • Serve on various JCC standing committees.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervising administrator.
