Requirements

• Successful completion of the Career Advisor Trainee (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration) training program; or One year of experience interviewing the public to collect and identify customer needs, evaluating eligibility for programs, and researching data to make decisions, and a bachelor’s degree; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
• You must meet the PA residency requirement.
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of workforce development programs, policies, and procedures
• Conduct assessments and provide direction to help jobseekers make informed decisions
• Plan and deliver individual and group counseling on job search topics
• Coordinate career goals, plans, services, and follow-up activities using a case management approach
• Provide current labor market information and assist users with PA CareerLink online enrollment
• Support employers by analyzing needs, coordinating recruitment, and proposing hiring strategies
