About the Workforce Development Division As part of the Maricopa County Human Services Department, the Workforce Development Division (WDD) is responsible for providing comprehensive workforce services for adult and youth job seekers and employers in Maricopa County. Services are available through two comprehensive career centers and partner sites in cities and towns across the Valley. WDD helps the community by providing a wide range of activities designed to assist career seekers, many with significant barriers to employment, in obtaining the knowledge and skills necessary for self-supporting employment. Requirements

• One year of experience in employment, training programs, case management, career development activities, reentry services, or equivalent social service programs
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Education, Social Work, Psychology, or a closely related field
• An equivalent combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis.
• Must complete background check and fingerprint identification upon hire to successfully secure and maintain the Arizona Department of Public Safety Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card

Nice To Haves

• Two or more years of professional-level experience in Career Services, Education, or Social Services.

Responsibilities

• Assist participants in developing career and education action plans
• Meet with customers one-on-one or in a group setting to review applications and determine if the customer meets WIOA eligibility requirements
• Assist participants with resume development and job search activities
• Assess participants' barriers to employment and arrange available area resources and supportive services as needed, including transportation, education, and emergency assistance
• Advise participants regarding secondary education, post-secondary training, and permanent employment opportunities
• Conduct and interpret academic and work readiness evaluations and assessments
• Provide intensive, sustained one-on-one support and guidance to a case load of up to 120 during the period of program participation
• Provide labor market information on in-demand occupations
• Conduct program orientations, informational seminars, and one-on-one sessions with customers
• Conduct outreach across various areas of Maricopa County to create awareness of the program services
• Assist participants with resume development and job search activities
• Create, update, and maintain accurate participant case notes and files
• Provide and track referrals to program partners and community-based service providers
• Assist with job fairs, resource fairs, and other program events
