About The Position

The NCWorks Career Center provides a full range of services to diverse categories of job seekers and employers to meet their employment and placement needs through assessment and development of job requirements, evaluation of experiences, skills and abilities, referral to jobs, job training programs or other placement services. The position is in a local office environment located in Clayton. The primary purpose of the position is to provide information, guidance and assistance to customers seeking employment and employers seeking workers through programs administrated by the Department of Commerce/Division of Workforce Solutions and the local Workforce boards in a local career center environment. The primary duties of this position are to act as a liaison between the center and local businesses. The role includes identifying employer needs, promoting job opportunities, and facilitating connections between businesses and potential candidates. The individual will provide employment related services including priority services where legislatively appropriate using a comprehensive knowledge of specific rules and regulations pertaining to targeted occupations, i.e., migrant and seasonal farm workers, veteran population, dislocated workers and parolees. Responsibilities will involve developing recruitment strategies, organizing job fairs (hiring events), conducting outreach to local companies, and maintaining relationships with employers to understand their workforce requirements. The position also includes collaborating with career advisors and job seekers to provide guidance on job market trends and effective application techniques. The work is performed under the supervision of the DWS Manager in the NCWorks Career Center in Johnston County.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of experience in human resource administration, case management, job development and placement, employment counseling, vocational guidance and counseling, social work, vocational rehabilitation, claims analysis, or related public contact work dealing with job applicants and employers in a variety of functions; or
  • Associate degree and three years of experience in human resource administration, case management, job development and placement, employment counseling, vocational guidance and counseling, social work, vocational rehabilitation, claims analysis, or related public contact work dealing with job applicants and employers in a variety of functions or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
