Provides residents assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADL) while recognizing the importance of their dignity and respect at all times. This role involves providing quality care and assistance to residents in accordance with the resident philosophy and policies and resident rights, assisting residents in meeting their physical, emotional and spiritual needs, and adhering to each resident’s Level of Care (LOC), notifying the supervisor of any changes in the resident’s condition. The Care Partner will answer and respond to resident calls in a timely manner, assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADL), and check residents every two (2) hours, reporting findings. They will also complete assignment sheets daily, encourage residents to attend meals in the dining room by escorting to and from the Dining room, and assist residents with meals in ways that meet their individual needs and desires, while being cognizant of changes in appetites and physical abilities to eat and drink. Additional duties include assisting with cleaning and tidying the dining room and resident’s room as directed by the supervisor, assisting with resident’s personal laundry as directed by the supervisor, establishing and maintaining good relationships with residents and their families, and disposing of all incontinent products according to OSHA regulations and Company policy. The role requires practicing proper body mechanics when lifting, following safety guidelines, responding to resident emergencies, working the assigned schedule, and following proper procedure for clocking in and out for shifts. The Care Partner must follow guidelines for uniforms and wear their name badge daily, follow policy on signing equipment in and out, and use Company assigned equipment properly as intended. The ability to work in a safe and alert manner, take ownership for associate’s safety and the safety of the residents, and disclose any medication that might impair the associate’s ability to perform the job safely or competently are also essential. Non-essential functions include leading by example exhibiting the CORE Values through servant leadership, encouraging teamwork and promoting company philosophy, attending required community meetings and participating in Life Enrichment activities when able, completing all required courses in adherence with HRA University, being prompt and able to perform the required duties of the position on a regular, predictable basis, becoming familiar with and understanding how to report a missing person using the Safe Return program or equivalent, becoming familiar with and understanding the steps for fire evacuation, and understanding that all associates are responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for all community residents.
