About The Position

Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) is seeking a Care Partner for their Surgery Center HR/PACU. This role assists nursing staff and patients with basic care needs, implements orders, and evaluates care. The Care Partner reports to the charge nurse and Clinical Director and collaborates with various healthcare team members to ensure quality of care. This position requires self-direction, a focus on quality, and strong interpersonal communication skills. Less than 1 year of experience

Care Partner Patient Documentation (Fundamental Awareness): Has limited experience or training working with clinical applications for patient documentation.
Environment of Care (Fundamental Awareness): Has limited experience or training working with set up and maintenance of patient exam rooms, supplies and equipment.

Responsibilities

Obtains vital signs, Intake and Outputs, and daily weight
Reports any abnormal findings to the nurse and/or charge nurse
Assists patients with activities of daily living, bathing, and toileting
May transcribe physician orders, answers patient call lights and relays messages to staff in a timely manner
May assist physicians with obtaining needed information on patients
Adheres to practices and policies outlined to ensure patient safety and follows infection control standards
