Care Partner - Memory Care
About The Position
Cogir Senior Living is hiring a Care Partner for Memory Care. Care Partners provide compassionate, personalized direct care to residents, helping with activities of daily living and supporting residents’ comfort, safety, and well-being. The role promotes independence, privacy, and dignity, and works as part of a team to maintain a supportive and nurturing environment. Care Partners assist residents with personal care, provide emotional support and companionship, encourage participation in life enrichment activities, perform light housekeeping, and promote communication among healthcare professionals, families, residents, and staff.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current caregiver training or certification as required by the state, such as CNA/GNA/PCA/DCA, or willingness and ability to obtain it.
- Current First Aid and CPR license, or ability to obtain them.
- At least 12 months of experience in a professional caregiving setting.
- Strong communication skills and a teamwork mindset.
- Positive attitude, empathy, patience, and commitment to treating residents with dignity and respect.
- Attention to detail, physical stamina, and high integrity.
- Willingness to participate in weekend rotation.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with memory care is a plus, but not required.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and transferring as needed, following community protocols, licensing regulations, and safety guidelines.
- Promote residents’ independence and provide emotional support through compassionate care, engagement, and companionship.
- Encourage and assist residents to participate in life enrichment activity programs.
- Perform light housekeeping, including making beds and tidying rooms.
- Promote open communication among healthcare professionals, families, residents, and staff.
