The Care Partner is a support care provider who functions under the direction of the Registered Nurse. Their primary focus is to promote a positive patient experience by partnering with the healthcare team to provide excellence in patient care, assisting with daily living activities and comfort measures. This role involves performing basic patient care functions such as ADLs, ambulation, and vital signs, and may require approved advanced technical skills like phlebotomy, simple treatments, dressing changes, oral suctioning, and discontinuing Foley catheters, depending on unit needs. The Care Partner is also responsible for clerical functions including data retrieval, maintaining unit supplies, and transporting supplies/patient medications. The position requires working in a fast-paced environment, multi-tasking, effective communication with the Registered Nurse and ancillary team, and performing under stressful conditions with a compassionate, respectful, and service-oriented mindset. Organizational skills and the ability to take direction from various care providers are essential.
