About The Position

Assist with the delivery of patient care and maintenance of unit environmental standards under the supervision of a licensed nurse. The environment on our unit is fast-paced, collaborative, and at times unpredictable, reflecting the dynamic nature of our patients' conditions. We care for adult patients age 18 and older who are being treated for acute ischemic, hemorrhagic stroke, subdural, epidural hematoma, subarachnoid hemorrhage, seizures, Guillain-Barre syndrome, Myasthenia Gravis exacerbation, meningitis and encephalitis, spinal cord injury, cerebrovascular intervention, and brain and spinal tumor resection. Our patients are unique because they have specialized neurological needs.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent experience)
AND one of the following:
Current enrollment in a professional nursing RN program with successful completion of the first semester (including nursing fundamentals clinical)
Graduation from a Nursing Assistant or Aide Training Program within the past year (certificate of completion required)
Minimum of one year of recent experience (within the past two years) as a care partner, nursing assistant, or patient care technician.
High School Diploma or GED (Required)

Responsibilities

Assist with the delivery of patient care and maintenance of unit environmental standards under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
Assists with day-to-day delivery of patient care.
Facilitates efficient and safe patient care and flow by following work area standards.
Serves as a liaison for communication and education of patient and family needs.
Supports unit operations and patient flow by maintaining supplies, equipment, and unit environmental standards.
