About The Position

Norwescap, a 60-year-old anti-poverty organization, is seeking a Family Child Care Inspector for its Newton, NJ office. Norwescap Child and Family Resources (CFRS) is the designated Child Care Resource and Referral Agency for Hunterdon, Sussex, and Warren Counties. The agency's mission is to enhance the quality and accessibility of early education and provide resources to community services. The Family Child Care staff ensure effective operations for the Family Child Care (FCC) registration program and the Family, Friend and Neighbor (FFN) program, adhering to contracts with the Department of Health, Division of Family Development, Office of Licensing, and Norwescap policies.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain all records for Family Child Care (FCC) and FCC schedules, ensuring compliance with the Family Child Care Manual of Requirements and DFD regulations.
  • Ensure Family, Friend and Neighbor (FFN) providers operate in full compliance with DFD regulations.
  • Complete program reports aligned with Division of Family Development and Office of Licensing requirements.
  • Recruit, provide training, monthly orientations, and Technical Assistance to potential FCC providers to complete Family Child Care registration.
  • Utilize systems including NJCCIS and Expedite to schedule and conduct timely home inspections for new or renewing providers, as well as yearly monitoring inspections.
  • Receive, process, and follow through on FCC complaints within the timeframes specified in the Annex.
  • Develop and present Peer Group and other professional development/training to FCC providers.
  • Facilitate providers' understanding of the EPPIC program.
  • Track providers' CPR/1st Aid expirations and background checks.
  • Collaborate with Child, Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) staff to facilitate site visits, ensure compliance with the CACFP program, and provide technical assistance.
  • Utilize the check-in process to ascertain family needs and provide appropriate resources and referrals.
  • Participate fully in CCRR duties, educating families, providers, and the community on childcare services, community resources, and quality programming through family check-ins, customer service, and outreach.
