About The Position
The Care Corps trainees will complete a 7-week training program preparing them to start a fulfilling job in the behavioral mental health field as a Psychiatric Social Health Technician. The training program will be a mix of classroom learning, use of clinical simulation labs, crisis prevention and other in-depth training at NYC Health + Hospitals and Project Renewal locations. Trainees will receive a stipend for the training hours at NYC Health + Hospitals, obtain certifications, and receive assistance with the job application and hiring process.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 6 months’ experience in a hospital or healthcare setting
- Proof of COVID-19 and flu vaccinations
- Must have received a formal enrollment offer for Project Renewal’s Care Corps Program for Cohort 6.
Responsibilities
- Attend 4 weeks of classroom training
- Attend 3 weeks of clinical simulation lab and in-depth training at NYC Health + Hospitals locations
- Actively engage in learning and obtainment of required certificates
- Apply for a Psychiatric Social Health Technician position with NYC Health and Hospitals
