Care Coordinator (Medical Receptionist/PSR)
About The Position
This role is for a full-time Care Coordinator, also known as a Front Desk Medical Receptionist or Patient Service Representative (PSR), at TexPTS in San Antonio, Texas. The position involves managing front desk operations, patient check-in/check-out, appointment scheduling, referral coordination, insurance verification, payment collection, and maintaining accurate patient records within the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service, answer phone calls professionally, and uphold HIPAA compliance. The clinic hours are Monday to Friday, 6:30 am to 7:30 pm, with shifts from 6:30 am to 3:30 pm or 10:30 am to 7:30 pm. Being a Spanish speaker is a plus.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED required
- Basic office and customer service skills
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in a similar role desired but not required
- Spanish Speaker is a plus!
Responsibilities
- Managing front desk operations, including patient check-in/check-out, appointment scheduling, and referral coordination, while providing exceptional customer service.
- Verifying insurance coverage, processing authorizations, and collecting payments to support accurate billing and ensure smooth patient access to care.
- Maintaining accurate patient records by registering new patients, updating information in the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system, and preparing necessary documentation.
- Answering phone calls and assisting patients in a courteous and professional manner while upholding HIPAA compliance and fostering a welcoming healthcare environment.
