The Orangewood Foundation, established in 1981, is dedicated to advocating for young people facing foster care, homelessness, and trafficking. Our mission is to empower these individuals by supporting their envisioned futures through one-on-one support. We offer programs in Basic Needs & Support, Education, Life Skills & Employment, and Transitional Housing & Support, with a vision of a community where every young person thrives. We are committed to Equal Opportunity, Flexible Scheduling, Powerful Teamwork, Personal Fulfillment, a Thriving Community, Professional Development, and Mental & Physical Wellness, offering Competitive Compensation. Our core values are Trust, Respect, Empathy, Inclusion, and Advocacy. The Project CHOICE program, funded by the Orange County Social Services Agency (OCSSA), provides engagement, assessment, and support to youth aged 11 to 21 who have been identified as commercially sexually exploited or at risk of exploitation. The Care Coordinator supports these youth at a drop-in center by assessing immediate needs such as safety, stability, housing, mental health linkages, and safety planning. This role also manages the daily environment of the drop-in center, coordinates services and workshops, and cultivates a survivor-centered, trauma-informed approach. Monthly 1:1 meetings with youth are held to create and update case plans, and support is provided for tabling and outreach events. This role may involve high stress levels due to mitigating participant crises and potential exposure to vicarious trauma, making self-care essential.
