Care Coordinator Auth Scheduling Specialist - Atrium Health Charlotte FT
About The Position
This role is responsible for completing referrals for patients, coordinating with referring and receiving practices and/or departments, and potentially preparing financial estimates for patients. The specialist will obtain all necessary authorizations, direct patients to providers within their insurance plan, and review benefits to educate patients on their insurance coverage. Additionally, they will coordinate and schedule surgical procedures, diagnostic testing, or other services with internal and ancillary providers, review schedules for accuracy and proper time allocation, and follow up on all referrals to ensure continuity of care.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Computer experience required.
- Customer service experience required.
Nice To Haves
- Thorough understanding of Insurance coverage (FSC/Coverage/Plan types) and Medical Necessity policies preferred.
- Knowledge of medical records software preferred.
Responsibilities

- Reviews schedules and confirms schedules are accurate and time is properly allocated.
- Follows up on all referrals to ensure no care gaps.
