About The Position
Atrium Health HPB Surgery Cabarrus is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused teammate to join their team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organization skills, effective communication, critical thinking, and a commitment to excellent patient service while navigating complex insurance and authorization processes. This role involves completing referrals, coordinating with practices, obtaining authorizations, directing patients to providers within their insurance plan, reviewing benefits, educating patients on coverage, and scheduling surgical procedures and diagnostic testing. The position requires reviewing schedules for accuracy and proper time allocation.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Strong computer, communication and customer service skills
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance plans, and authorization processes would be helpful, but not necessarily required.
Responsibilities
- Completes referrals for patients and coordinates with referring and receiving practices and/or departments.
- May coordinate and prepare financial estimates for patients.
- Obtains all authorizations needed.
- Directs patients to providers in their insurance plan.
- Reviews benefits and educates patient on insurance coverage.
- Coordinates and schedules surgical procedures, diagnostic testing, or other services within various departments with internal and ancillary providers.
- Reviews schedules and confirms schedules are accurate and time is properly allocated.
