About The Position

As a Caregiver, you will provide compassionate, resident-centered care while promoting each resident's independence, dignity, and quality of life. Working under the supervision of a licensed nurse, you will assist residents with activities of daily living, monitor changes in condition, and contribute to a safe and welcoming environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • CPR certification required (or ability to obtain within designated timeframe).
  • Current CNA and or HHA certification required and in good standing with the NJ board of nursing.
  • Compassionate, patient, and dependable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to follow care plans and nursing instructions.
  • Strong observation skills with the ability to recognize and report changes in resident condition.
  • Commitment to providing exceptional customer service to residents and families.
  • Ability to lift, move, reposition, and transfer residents safely.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach throughout the workday.
  • Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks associated with resident care.
  • May require exposure to bodily fluids and infectious materials.
  • Must follow OSHA safety standards and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate personal care while treating every resident with dignity and respect.
  • Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, oral hygiene, toileting, and other personal care needs.
  • Support residents during meals, including feeding assistance and encouraging proper nutrition and hydration.
  • Assist residents with mobility, transfers, ambulation, positioning, and restorative exercises as directed.
  • Encourage residents to maintain their highest level of independence and functioning.
  • Respond promptly to resident call lights and requests for assistance.
  • Observe residents for changes in physical or emotional condition and report concerns to the nurse immediately.
  • Accurately document care provided according to company policies.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team.
  • Maintain resident confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
  • Follow infection prevention protocols, standard precautions, and all safety procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents and staff.
  • Participate in emergency procedures, including fire safety and disaster response.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support resident care and community operations.
