Requirements

  • Ability to work assigned shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed
  • Must work all scheduled weekend shifts to maintain program eligibility and receive bonus pay
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality are required
  • Must complete Medication Administration Certification within the first 4 weeks of employment
  • Complete required annual training in accordance with regulatory standards
  • HS Diploma or equivalent (ie: GED) – If applicant attended secondary school outside the US, Diploma must be translated to English language if printed in native language.
  • Complete Direct Care Worker Training from Temple University Online before orientation
  • Complete Dementia Care Training – completed with in 30 days of hire
  • CPR Certified
  • First Aid Certified
  • 1 year experience providing direct care to seniors or disabled people.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures to communicate with other healthcare providers when necessary.

  • AED Certified
  • Medication Administration Certified

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
  • Support resident mobility and transfers using assistive devices such as walkers and wheelchairs
  • Provide medication reminders and assist with medication administration in accordance with training and policy
  • Assist with meal preparation, setup, and feeding as needed
  • Perform light housekeeping duties, including bed-making, laundry, room tidiness, and minor/emergent cleaning
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to residents
  • Monitor residents’ health and report changes or concerns to appropriate staff
  • Assist with recreational activities and resident engagement
  • Accurately document care provided and observations in resident records
  • Follow all facility policies and procedures to ensure resident safety and well-being
