About The Position
This position is for a Registered Nurse (RN) on a 54 Cardiovascular Telemetry Unit. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4 or 1:5 on days and 1:5 or 1:6 on nights. The patient population includes those with chest pain rule-out myocardial infarction, congestive heart failure, arrhythmias, post-coronary artery bypass grafting, post-cardiac catheterization with stents or angioplasty, and pacemakers. Occasionally, the unit also accommodates neuro overflow patients, including acute stroke patients. The environment is team-oriented, with a designated charge nurse available as a resource.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN) license
- ACLS certification
- NIHSS scale certification
Responsibilities
- Provide care for patients with cardiovascular conditions including CP r/o MI, CHF, arrhythmias, post CABG, post cardiac catheterization with stents or angioplasty, and pacemakers.
- Occasionally care for neuro overflow patients including acute stroke patients.
- Utilize NIHSS scale for patient assessment.
- Collaborate with C.N.A.'s and charge nurse.
- Work within a team-oriented environment.
