About The Position
The Cardiovascular Technologist (CVOR Tech) is responsible for assisting in surgical operations under the supervision of surgeons, registered nurses, or other surgical personnel. The role involves working with specialized surgical instruments and equipment, maintaining a sterile environment, and ensuring the readiness of the surgical team.
Requirements
- CST certification
- BLS certification
Responsibilities
- Orthopedic surgery including total joints
- ENT procedures
- General surgery
- Uro/gyn surgical support
- Surgical identification and setup
- Maintaining sterile technique and aseptic practice
- Performing counts and specimen handling
- Preparing and draping the surgical site
- Handling medications on the sterile field
- Troubleshooting sterile field contamination
- Facilitating fast room turnover
- Working independently with minimal orientation
