Summary: During the Cardiac and Vascular Interventional Suites (CVIS) procedure, provides highly technical Hemodynamic pressure and EKG monitoring as well as scrubbing procedures to the pediatric/congenital and/or adult patients in the Cath Lab. Experience and ability to work in Cath, EP, and IR a plus and highly preferred!

Requirements

  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Must be able to handle an emergency crisis and unpredictable situations.
  • Must take call and work irregular hours as needed.
  • No prior work experience required.
  • Graduate of a two year Cardiovascular or Radiology or an equivalent program.
  • Must have ACLS Certification (ACLS) within 6 months.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.
  • Monitors, documents, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
  • Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel.
  • May precept student nurses and new hires.
  • Evaluates learning needs of the patient and, or family and provides patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
  • Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including disposition, referral, and spiritual and, or psychosocial support needs.
