About The Position

The Cardiac Electrophysiology (EP) Lab at UW Medical Center – Montlake is a highly specialized procedural area providing advanced diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular care for adult patients with complex cardiac arrhythmias. As a regional referral center and part of a nationally recognized academic medical center, the UW EP Lab performs a broad range of procedures including implanted devices and cardiac ablations. The EP Lab team works collaboratively in a fast-paced environment to deliver safe, evidence-based, and patient-centered care. This position offers access to the newest, least invasive therapies, unavailable at any other site in the region, and the opportunity for career growth within a dynamic, comprehensive care team.

Requirements

  • Associate of Arts (AA) degree from an accredited Interventional Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT) program AND registration by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) AND Licensure by the State of Washington as a Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (CIS)
  • OR Associate of Arts (AA) degree from an accredited Radiologic Technologist program AND Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) AND Licensure by the State of Washington as a Radiologic Technologist (RT)
  • Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.

Responsibilities

  • Scrub, monitor, and circulate diagnostic and complex electrophysiology (EP) cardiology procedures
  • Case types include diagnostic EP studies, device implantations, LAOO and ablations
  • Lead extractions and device implantations
  • Participate in performance improvement and CQI activities within the department
  • Work as part of a dynamic, interdisciplinary team
  • Provide excellent communication with providers and staff about changes in the patient's condition, including hemodynamic monitoring and symptomatology
