About The Position

This is an EKG Technician role with a 3x12 schedule (6:30AM–7PM). Position includes rotating weekend/holiday coverage and occasional weekend call. Looking for strong team players to apply today! Sign-on bonus available to eligible applicants!

Requirements

  • Requires high school graduate or equivalent
  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA
  • Requires basic computer operations experience and some familiarity with software programs such as Word; Excel and Outlook

Nice To Haves

  • Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies
  • Coursework in EKG; rhythm interpretation; anatomy; physiology or other related courses
  • Experience as an EKG technician; Cardiac Surveillance Technician; Emergency Medical Technician; Cardiovascular Technician; Phlebotomist; Paramedic or equivalent position or a certificate of completion or degree related to rhythm analysis or exercise physiology or related allied health field
  • Knowledge of electrocardiograph procedures and the EKG manifestations of the entire variety of cardiac arrhythmias in order to identify and effectively communicate significant and/or life threatening cardiac rhythms

Responsibilities

  • Recording and processing 12-lead electrocardiograms (EKG)
  • Continuous monitoring of patient cardiac rhythms and reporting of critical information (cardiac surveillance)
  • Review of 24- and 48-hour rhythm recordings and compiling reports for physician review (ambulatory monitoring)
  • May monitor patient's rhythm and status and operating equipment during exercise testing (stress testing)
  • May support the organization IV services by acting as a second-tier source for starting IV's and drawing labs
  • Ability to balance and manage carrying-out multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to utilize automated menu system to manipulate; process and enhance patient information
  • Ability to recognize and trouble-shoot equipment problems in order to ensure adequate signal and know when to request support from Clinical Engineering
