About The Position

The Cardiovascular Technologist I is a professional without Cath lab &/or interventional experience training to assist during diagnostic and therapeutic invasive cardiovascular procedures. He/she will train to assist the physician during the procedures and operate specialized equipment in a safe and efficient manner. The Cardiovascular Technologist I is responsible for maintaining sterile technique during procedures and assisting the Cath_EP Lab Manager/Director in the maintenance of a safe and efficient environment dealing primarily with adults eighteen to sixty-five, and geriatric patients over the age of sixty-five.The cardiovascular technologist I may participates in the cath or EP call rotation once appropriately oriented and checked off on clinical and operational competencies.

Requirements

Prior Cath lab experience
ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support or ARC-ALS - Amer Red Cross Advanced Life Support or ACLS-I - ACLS - Instructor or ACLS-P - ACLS-Provisional (180 Days) within 180 Days
BLS - Basic Life Support or ARC-BLS - Amer Red Cross Basic Life Support or BLS-I - Basic Life Support - Instructor
Minimum 1 year Work experience in a medical setting one year of relevant experience with a associate degree or higher Required
Minimum 1 year one year of specific experience in a medical setting (i.e. LPN, RT, EMT/Paramedic) with high school diploma Required
30 minutes response time required for on-call duties

Responsibilities

Assist during diagnostic and therapeutic invasive cardiovascular procedures.
Operate specialized equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
Maintain sterile technique during procedures.
Assist the Cath_EP Lab Manager/Director in the maintenance of a safe and efficient environment.
Participate in the cath or EP call rotation once appropriately oriented and checked off on clinical and operational competencies.
