About The Position

Under the direction of the Director, Clinical Operations and in conjunction with the scheduler and CVS staff, this role provides clerical and administrative assistant support to the CVS Department and the VIR/Radiology service to ensure smooth and efficient operations. Within the scope of responsibilities and training, the position may perform other duties as listed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum 3 years experience in health care operations

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and manages the scheduling of patients for tests and procedures, including scheduling appointments in both Meditech and Outlook.
  • Obtains necessary demographic and clinical information from patients, physicians, and other departments to appropriately schedule procedures.
  • Admits and discharges patients.
  • Creates reports as requested by the practice manager or administrator.
  • Maintains statistical reports and files, and processes patient reports.
  • Answers telephones and directs calls as appropriate.
  • Maintains department supplies and orders as needed.
  • Provides information to patients and physician offices regarding available services.
  • Responds to inquiries by physician offices and vendors.
  • Keeps vendors, technicians, physicians, and the director apprised of appropriate operations issues.
  • May perform EKGs and other testing as qualified.
  • May provide transcription support as needed.
