The cardiovascular service line is supported by a multidisciplinary team including interventional cardiology, heart failure specialists, cardiac imaging, vascular services, and experienced electrophysiology providers, ensuring comprehensive cardiac care across the continuum. The organization is seeking a Cardiac Nurse Practitioner to join its growing Cardiac Electrophysiology team in Shelton, Connecticut. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity focused on providing comprehensive care for patients with cardiac rhythm disorders in both outpatient and inpatient settings. The Cardiac Nurse Practitioner will work closely with electrophysiologists and the broader cardiology team to support evaluation, treatment planning, procedural care, and long-term management of patients with arrhythmias and implantable cardiac devices. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work within a collaborative and highly specialized cardiovascular program equipped with advanced technology and strong clinical support. Experienced cardiac APPs as well as new graduates with relevant cardiology training are encouraged to apply.

Requirements

  • Master’s or Doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
  • Current APRN licensure or eligibility for licensure in Connecticut
  • Board Certification as a Nurse Practitioner required
  • ACLS certification preferred
  • Strong clinical assessment and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary cardiovascular team
  • Commitment to patient-centered, high-quality care

Nice To Haves

  • Prior cardiology or electrophysiology experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and manage patients with cardiac arrhythmias including atrial fibrillation, supraventricular tachycardia, ventricular arrhythmias, and conduction disorders
  • Conduct patient assessments, obtain medical histories, and perform physical examinations
  • Collaborate with electrophysiologists in the management of patients requiring pacemakers, ICDs, loop recorders, and cardiac resynchronization therapy devices
  • Assist with pre-procedure and post-procedure patient care for electrophysiology studies and ablation procedures
  • Interpret diagnostic studies including ECGs, Holter monitors, telemetry data, and device interrogations
  • Provide patient education regarding medications, treatment plans, lifestyle modifications, and follow-up care
  • Coordinate care with cardiology, primary care, and hospital-based teams to ensure continuity of care
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based clinical practices
