About The Position

This is a full-time position in the Cardiac Cath Lab at Atrium Health Cabarrus, operating within the Atrium Health Float II Pool. The role involves performing and assisting with treatments, therapies, and procedures, including scrub assistant, monitoring, and circulating, under physician direction. Responsibilities also include medication administration, patient documentation, and communication of relevant information to physicians and teammates. The position requires participation in committee and governance activities and adherence to evidence-based practice for patient care.

Requirements

  • Satisfactory completion of high school and an accredited program of Cardiovascular/Cardiopulmonary technology, The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, or related field required.
  • If not licensed or certified (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist or Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist, allied health professional will have up to 12 months to successfully obtain.
  • Graduate of an accredited Allied Health Technology program, such as Radiologic Technology, Respiratory Therapy, or comparable.
  • Graduate of Cardiovascular Interventional Program or minimum of two years of experience as a Cardiovascular Specialist.

Nice To Haves

  • Invasive Cardiovascular Specialist/Electrophysiology Specialist training or experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates evidence-based practice and performs care for the comfort and wellbeing of the patient.
  • Performs and/or assists with treatments, therapies, and procedures (including scrub assistant, monitoring and circulating) under the direction of the physician.
  • Administers medication under the direct supervision of the physician, as appropriate.
  • Documents a current clinical picture and records designated information in the patient record.
  • Conveys relevant information to physicians and teammates.
  • Calculates, interprets and analyzes data.
  • Assists in development of policies, procedures and standards of care reflective of current practice/literature.
  • Highly Recommended to participate in committee and governance activities.
