Cardiovascular Disease Fellow, GME, Full Time, Flex shift, Job ID 1780833

Palmetto General HospitalHialeah, FL
Onsite

About The Position

A Cardiology Fellow participates in an organized three year post graduate educational program that trains the physician in cardiovascular medicine. He has daily contact with patients and assumes increasing responsibility for their care under the supervision of the attending staff of the hospital. The assumption of responsibility is the most important aspect of the fellows training. As each fellow physician demonstrates increasing knowledge and ability in cardiovascular medicine, an increasing amount of reliance should be placed in his judgment in the diagnosis and in treatment of patients. The physician is given the opportunity to put into practice the principles of preventive medicine, diagnoses, therapy and patient management which he learned as a resident. Under the supervision of the attending staff, he is given progressively increasing responsibility so that he acquires confidence in his clinical judgment. For the training to be approved, the hospital where the residency is served must be approved by the Board of Directors of Palmetto General Hospital, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) and/or the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).
