The Cardiovascular Clinical Technician is responsible for multifaceted equipment support, the coordination of lifesaving material and providing direct clinical aid for all cardiac, anesthesia-related areas within the institution. Responsibilities include: checking for proper function and calibration of complex life support equipment, assembly of components for invasive monitoring and fluid delivery, maintenance of inventories and proper function of essential equipment. The technician must know and understand the basic anatomy of the cardiovascular system. He/she is expected to provide support to cardiac anesthesiologists, CRNA's, and Anesthesia trainee's during direct patient care and throughout the duration of procedures. This individual is expected to act as a role model and resource to junior anesthesia providers, core technicians and unit support staff.
