Requirements

  • High School Graduate or GED
  • One year of experience in the health or patient care related field
  • Successful completion of Basic Arrhythmia course, IV competency and Arterial line insertion competency completed, within 6 months
  • American Heart Association BLS
  • American Heart Association ACLS, within 6 months

Nice To Haves

  • Six months experience working in an operating room

Responsibilities

  • Provide critical support in the safe and efficient administration of anesthesia, assisting providers with equipment and supplies for diverse surgical and non-surgical cases.
  • Prepare and maintain anesthesia equipment, supplies, and medications before, during, and after cases.
  • Perform complex procedures under direction (e.g., setting up and assisting with line placement, intubation, extubation), managing supply inventory, room turnover, and patient positioning/transport.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of anesthesia equipment and sterile techniques, possess meticulous attention to detail, and exhibit excellent communication and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintains, calibrates and troubleshoots all equipment according to instructions and the protocols of equipment manuals.
  • Performs pre-surgical preparation, set-up and equipment testing.
  • Stocks anesthesia supplies and drugs in all operating and delivery suites.
  • Performs arterial and intravenous catheter insertion and autotransfusion.
  • Assists with induction/emersion, Swan Ganz-CVP insertion and regional blocks, calibrate and support of technical, janitorial and logistic in all service areas.
  • Cleans and disinfects anesthesia equipment after use.
