About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cardiothoracic Surgery Nurse Practitioner for a Locum Tenens position in Flagstaff, AZ. This role involves providing clinical coverage and taking call within the CT Surgery department of a hospital. The Nurse Practitioner will manage adult and geriatric patients in the CVICU/step down unit, assist in cardiothoracic surgeries, and perform various procedures. This is a clinical and call coverage position for a defined period.

Requirements

• Active AZ license
• BC/BE (NCCPA)
• DEA required
• BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• Minimum 3 years of experience in cardiothoracic surgery with EVH
• Graduate from NCCPA-approved program or Master's Degree in Nursing

Nice To Haves

• Proficient with EVH (endoscopic vein harvesting)

Responsibilities

• Provide coverage in the CT Surgery department managing 10-15 CVICU/step down patients per day.
• Assist in 1-2 cardiothoracic surgeries per day.
• Perform special procedures including temporary pacemaker removal, chest tube removal, IABP removal, and Aline placement.
• Take call from 3p – 7a on coverage days.
• Utilize proficiency with EVH (endoscopic vein harvesting) during surgical cases.
