Cardiothoracic Surgeon - California
About The Position
DocStar Medical Partners is seeking a locum cardiothoracic surgeon for ongoing weekend call coverage at a Level III trauma center. This facility has a well-established CABG program and is expanding its cardiovascular service line. The role involves adult inpatient cardiothoracic surgery coverage using Cerner EMR. Coverage is scheduled in continuous weekend blocks from Friday morning through Monday morning, typically 3-4 weekends per month, with an ongoing need. The program is actively growing in minimally invasive cardiac surgery, TAVR, off-pump CABG, and thoracic aortic procedures.
Requirements
- MD or DO degree.
- Board certified in Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery with CAQ.
- Active California license.
- At least 5 years of experience.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with minimally invasive cardiac surgery.
- Experience with TAVR.
- Experience with off-pump CABG.
- Experience with thoracic aortic procedures.
Responsibilities
- Provide adult inpatient cardiothoracic surgery coverage.
- Perform CABG coverage.
- Perform TEE.
- Provide 24/7 weekend call coverage.
- Manage adult inpatient cardiothoracic surgery coverage using Cerner EMR.
- Participate in the expansion of cardiovascular service line, including minimally invasive cardiac surgery, TAVR, off-pump CABG, and thoracic aortic procedures.
