About The Position

St. Mary's Medical Center is seeking a Cardiopulmonary Perfusionist. The Cardiopulmonary Perfusionist, under the supervision of the Chief Cardiopulmonary Perfusionist or authorized designee, is responsible for the setup of and the safe operation of the cardiopulmonary bypass machine, intra-aortic balloon pump, autologous blood collection machine and associated equipment, as needed, during cardiac surgery or related cardiovascular operative procedures.

Requirements

• Graduate of accredited school of cardiovascular perfusion or comparable training program.
• Minimum of 50 plus cases of performing both adult and pediatric perfusion.
• Technical proficiency in the use of all necessary equipment.

Nice To Haves

• Certified or certification eligible cardiopulmonary perfusionist preferred.

Responsibilities

• Setup and safe operation of the cardiopulmonary bypass machine.
• Setup and safe operation of the intra-aortic balloon pump.
• Setup and safe operation of the autologous blood collection machine and associated equipment.
• Operate equipment as needed during cardiac surgery or related cardiovascular operative procedures.
• Organize and coordinate related activities of the open heart surgery program.
