About The Position

The Manager of the Cardiopulmonary Department is an experienced professional who is responsible for the management of the respiratory therapists in the Cardiopulmonary/Pulmonary Rehab/Sleep Lab departments and patient-related activities, staffing and scheduling of department employees, continued monitoring of quality improvement program, oversees in and out-patient scheduling and charges, patient safety and satisfaction programs, patient/community educational and wellness programs. Coordinate and/or teach mandatory certification renewals (NRP, CPR, etc.) and other staff as needed. Participate in equipment evaluation and purchase for the department. Writes and updates policies and procedures to maintain current standard of care. Functions as staff therapist as described in staff Respiratory Therapist job description.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Associate of Science Degree or higher in Respiratory
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist Credential (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician (CRTT)
  • Current BLS certification
  • Must become ACLS, NRP certified within one (1) month of hire
  • Licensed to practice Respiratory Therapy in the State of Oregon
  • Must supply RRT diploma or transcripts
  • Five years' previous clinical experience practicing general Respiratory Therapy
  • Experience in ICU, Labor & Delivery ICN, ER, pediatric, floor care, Cardiac Stress Testing, ABG sampling and analysis, Pulmonary Function Testing, and Cardiac Event monitoring preferred
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Subject to satisfactory adjudication of background investigation and/or fingerprint check
  • Successful completion of 500-hour probationary period
  • Criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen required upon conditional job offer

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in ICU, Labor & Delivery ICN, ER, pediatric, floor care, Cardiac Stress Testing, ABG sampling and analysis, Pulmonary Function Testing, and Cardiac Event monitoring
