Requirements

  • Current and valid Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
  • State licensure to practice as a Respiratory Therapist in the United States.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited respiratory therapy program.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications PALS.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a clinical respiratory therapy role, preferably in acute care settings.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lead and motivate a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care
  • Previous Supervisory experience

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working night shifts or in a 24-hour hospital environment.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and respiratory care documentation software.
  • Strong background in mechanical ventilation management and pulmonary function testing.
  • Previous involvement in respiratory therapy quality improvement or patient education programs.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate patient care activities, ensuring compliance with hospital policies and clinical standards
  • Provide support and mentorship to department staff, fostering a collaborative team environment
  • Monitor departmental performance metrics and assist in implementing quality improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes
  • Ensure proper documentation, equipment maintenance, and adherence to safety protocols
  • Participate in staff scheduling, training, and performance evaluations
