About The Position

Well Health Diagnostic Centres is looking for a skilled and certified Cardiology Technologist who will be responsible for performing all cardiac testing techniques including Electrocardiogram (ECG) testing, stress testing, Holter scanning, Holter monitoring, and ambulatory BP monitoring in compliance with CSCT guidelines. WELL Health Diagnostic Centres is the largest operator of independent diagnostic health facilities in Ontario. More than 15,000 Ontario healthcare providers refer their patients to WELL Health Diagnostic Centre’s 40 accredited locations for OHIP-covered cardiology, imaging, women’s health, telehealth, and sleep diagnostic services.

Requirements

  • 0-2 years of related experience.
  • Completion of a Cardiology program recognized by the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists.
  • Current certification with the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists and eligible for membership with the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists (CSCT).
  • Current CPR certificate.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuing education and training.
  • Demonstrate effective decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Have a cheerful, positive attitude and the ability to work effectively with others as well as the ability to work independently and treat everyone with respect, dignity, and kindness.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for ensuring patient identification, safety and preparation are correct prior to testing while maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • Performs all cardiac testing techniques including Electrocardiogram (ECG) testing, stress testing, Holter scanning, Holter monitoring and ambulatory BP monitoring as per compliance Company’s P&P manual guidelines.
  • Responsible for inserting various types of intravenous lines and monitoring the IV treatments to watch for complications as required.
  • Performs Nuclear stress testing on treadmill as well as using pharmacological interventions including Persantine (Dipyridamole), dobutamine, adenosine, etc. as well as administering aminophylline as required under clinical supervision and delegated workflow.
  • Ensures all quality control assessments are performed as required.
  • Takes all reasonable precautions and work in compliance with related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices.
  • Follows procedures for proper equipment maintenance are completed in accordance with department standards.
  • Ensures equipment and instruments are performing in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Prepares reports as required.
