About The Position

Performs aspects of cardiographic services and receives training to provide additional services as directed. Performs clerical duties, transports patients and receives/directs patient flow.

Requirements

  • High School or GED
  • 1 year role/job working in a service/public arena
  • Cardiac-related experience as a nursing assistant, EMT, or similar medical experience

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct patient care and evaluates outcome.
  • Assesses patient as appropriate for procedure.
  • Performs all cardiographic studies according to policy and procedure and as directed by interpreting physician.
  • Monitors participants during and after procedures.
  • Evaluates results of procedures and patient response, and takes action accordingly.
  • Performs duties and responsibilities such that delays are prevented and/or minimized.
  • Provides safety for patients undergoing procedures.
  • Monitors quality control of equipment and participates in continuing quality improvement in the assigned division.
  • Evaluates images for technical quality, assuring proper identification is recorded.
  • Assumes responsibility for equipment in assigned area and reports any malfunctions.
  • Participates in CQI activities.
  • Performs specific quality control duties as assigned.
  • Provides transportation of patients.
  • Transports appropriate patient safely, using proper techniques and in adequate time frame to allow tests to be performed as scheduled.
  • Ensures each patient is properly clothed/covered before transporting.
  • Assists in assessing need for performance of portable studies.
  • Communicates patient/family health care needs to the appropriate health care provider.
  • Timely reporting of variance or significant events/results to the appropriate care giver.
  • Corroborates patient's clinical history with procedure, assuring information is documented and available for use by a licensed practitioner.
