About The Position

Performs aspects of cardiographic services and receives training to provide additional services as directed. Performs clerical duties, transports patients and receives/directs patient flow.

Requirements

High School or GED
1 year role/job working in a service/public arena
Cardiac-related experience as a nursing assistant, EMT, or similar medical experience

Responsibilities

Provides direct patient care and evaluates outcome.
Assesses patient as appropriate for procedure.
Performs all cardiographic studies according to policy and procedure and as directed by interpreting physician.
Monitors participants during and after procedures.
Evaluates results of procedures and patient response, and takes action accordingly.
Performs duties and responsibilities such that delays are prevented and/or minimized.
Provides safety for patients undergoing procedures.
Monitors quality control of equipment and participates in continuing quality improvement in the assigned division.
Evaluates images for technical quality, assuring proper identification is recorded.
Assumes responsibility for equipment in assigned area and reports any malfunctions.
Participates in CQI activities.
Performs specific quality control duties as assigned.
Provides transportation of patients.
Transports appropriate patient safely, using proper techniques and in adequate time frame to allow tests to be performed as scheduled.
Ensures each patient is properly clothed/covered before transporting.
Assists in assessing need for performance of portable studies.
Communicates patient/family health care needs to the appropriate health care provider.
Timely reporting of variance or significant events/results to the appropriate care giver.
Corroborates patient's clinical history with procedure, assuring information is documented and available for use by a licensed practitioner.
